The Fast, Secure Solution for Visitor Enrollment

Datacard Visitor Manager

The main function of Visitor Manager is to enable you to enroll visitors with their government-issued credentials and quickly produce secure ID cards or badges. It is an ideal system for any enterprise concerned about improving security whether it be managing visits from contractors, vendors, or customers; or controlling access to secure facilities.

Visitor badges can be printed on adhesive labels or plastic cards and the records of check-in and check-out activity can be saved and later accessed in various database formats.

System Requirements

To fully implement the visitor manager system, you will need the following:

  • computer
  • Datacard ID Works software (Standard or Enterprise edition)
  • Visitor Manager™ software
  • driver's license and/or passport scanner
    (Scanshell 800R or 1000R)
  • badge printer (Dymo label printer or Datacard SP series table-top card printer)
  • Optional (for automatic check-out): barcode and magnetic stripe reader (e.g., E-Seek 250)
ID works software box

Features of Visitor Manager

Features of Visitor Manager include the ability to:

  • customize the layout of your work area and of the badges
  • print badges for either single-use or multiple-use
  • with multiple-use badges:
    • visitor’s record is retrieved each time the badge is swiped
    • upon check-in, a visitor’s record displays the most recent check-out date and time and sets the current check-in time
  • set expiration dates for badges:
    • if an expired badge is swipred, a message appears to alert the operator
    • set both the number of days (ranging from same day to one year from date of issue) and the time of day
  • pre-register visitors ahead of time integrating a database with some preliminary information
  • deny access by checking visitors against a “barred” list; a receptionist or guard views the match(es) and decides to bar or deny access.
  • save check-in and check-out (event logging) information into a database; supported databases include:
    • Access file
    • SQL Server database
    • DB2
    • Oracle
